스코틀랜드 민요 로몬드 호수(Loch Lomond)는 고향의 로몬드 호수와 호수를
에워싼 아름다운 자연 경관과 멀리 떠나간 연인을 그리워하는 노래입니다

Loch Lomond(로몬드 湖水) 영국 스코틀랜드 최대의 호수

스코틀랜드 산악지방 남쪽 가장자리를 가로질러 놓여 있는 이 호수는 스트래
스 클라이드와 중부 지역 사이에 있는 경계의 일부를 이룬다. 주위 경관은 북쪽
의 높이가 900m 이상되는 암석 투성이의 빙하산맥으로부터 남쪽의 보다 완만
하고 숲이 우거진 구릉과 섬들에 이르기까지 다양하다.

호수 길이는 약 39㎞로, 남쪽에서는 3각형 꼴로 폭이 넓어진다. 비록 수면은
해발 7m 정도에 불과하나 빙하작용에 의해 팬 호수 바닥은 깊이가 189m에 이른다.
짧은 레벤강에 의해 이 호수물은 덤바턴에 있는 클라이드 하구로 흘러 들어간다.
